CLAN BREWING CO.

SCOTTLAND

The Clansmen, Scott Williams, Master Brewer of Wil- liams Brothers Brewing Co & Charles MacLean, Master of the Quaich, worked tirelessly for more than a year to create four recipes. Together Scott & Charlie have developed our initial range of four craft brews matured in regional whisky barrels.

WHY THE CLANSHAKE? Shaking hands is a relic of our ancient past, tracing back to the Roman era. When- ever Clans met under friendly conditions, they would hold their arms out with their palms exposed to show that no weapons were being held or concealed. It is thought that the practice of carrying a concealed dagger or antler in the sleeve was common, so for protection they developed the Lower-Arm- Grasp as a common greeting. This friendly ritual has been adopted by the Clan Brewing Company as a symbol of friendshipand unity!

SPRUCE ALE

A classic combination of two traditional methods of creating uniquely Scottish liquids: smoky peat on a sweet, resinous full body.  Smoky, fruity, intense, full-bodied.   Aged in Islay casks for an absurdly long time.

GOLDEN ALE

An elegantly complex ale carefully brewed to allow sweet malt and tropical fruit aromas to emerge, without overpowering.   Finished in highland whisky casks add subtle sherry and fruitcake to this delectable ale.

IMPERIAL ALE

A rich, dark, and extremely flavorful Imperial Stout, packed with burnt coffee and lemon scents,  skillfully balanced by sweet sherry and raisin flavors derived from a short period Lowland Malt whisky casks.  A smokey, slight acrid mouthfeel and long burnt finish.

RED RYE ALE

Subtly peppery rye malt, warm fermented to increase its fruity character, offset by a blend of citrus dominant hops, then finished for a lengthy period in Speyside Whisky casks to create a wonderfully complex ale.
